The government of Guangzhou recently announced plans to establish two new forest parks in Nansha by 2035, namely the Dashanna Forest Park and the Nandashan Forest Park.

They also plan to merge two existing forest parks, namely the Huangshanlu Forest Park and the Huangshanlu Baishui Lake Wetland Park, to create the Huangshanlu Forest Park.

Nansha aims to become an exemplary eco-friendly district in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In an effort to reach this goal, Nansha's mangrove forest park will be merged with Nansha Wetland Park.

Nansha Wetland Park will then be developed into one of the three major urban "green cores" in Guangzhou. Its focus will be on wetland conservation and restoration, improving the ecological environment along the water bird ecological corridor, enhancing water quality, and establishing a number of wetland cultural and educational bases.

Additionally, plans have been made to establish a geological park in Nansha by 2035, namely the Nansha Dahushan Geological Park. This will promote the effective conservation and sustainable utilization of geological resources throughout the district.
