The 2026 Davis Cup World Group I Play-offs, the highest team honor in men's tennis, will be held at the Nansha International Tennis Center in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, from Feb 6 to 7.

Team China will face off against Portugal on home soil. This event marks another major international tennis tournament hosted in Nansha, following the prestigious women's team competition, the Billie Jean King Cup in 2024.

With this, the Nansha International Tennis Center joins the select few venues in China to have hosted both of world tennis's top team events.

With a history of over a century, the Davis Cup is often referred to as the "World Cup" of tennis. China has shown remarkable progress in recent years, defeating Montenegro and Ireland to advance to this crucial World Group I playoff. The winner will qualify for the World Group I matches in September.

The competition will adopt a best-of-five format. While China faces a strong challenge from the higher-ranked Portuguese team, home crowd support could provide a significant boost.

Coinciding with the pre-Chinese New Year period, the tournament offers discounted early-bird and group ticket options, inviting fans to witness this high-stakes showdown and cheer for their homegrown heroes.
