Recently, Guangzhou's "Regulatory Plan and Urban Design for Nansha Hub" was selected as a model case in Guangzhou's International Urban Governance and Planning Innovation initiative.
The project, guided by Dr Liu Thai Ker – an internationally respected architect and urban planner renowned for his work on Singapore's long-term plan – combines smart growth strategies with cultural and artistic elements to create a dynamic hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The plan focuses on creating a compact, transit-oriented community where the transportation hub, businesses, and residential areas are fully integrated. Its spatial layout features a "dual-core, dual-axis" structure to support efficient connectivity and balanced development. The transport network incorporates Singapore-inspired solutions to separate through-traffic from local routes, reducing congestion while keeping neighborhoods pedestrian-friendly.
A key highlight is the emphasis on quality of life. The design includes 15 kilometers of scenic waterfront trails, 108 hectares of parks, and public spaces designed for all ages. Heritage buildings will be preserved and repurposed, adding cultural character to the modern architecture. With these features, Nansha aims to become an eco-friendly, culturally vibrant, and livable destination for the future.
