National Games Joy Week's canoeing event unites youth in Guangzhou

The canoeing competition, part of the National Games Joy Week series, was held on Nov 1 at the canoeing base in Nansha district, Guangzhou. The event attracted over 200 young participants from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

Featuring both doubles and team races, the competition showcased athletes paddling in sync along a 200-meter course, displaying youthful energy and teamwork. A Hong Kong participant named Yang shared that working with his teammates helped him fully embrace Nansha's vibrant National Games atmosphere. Meanwhile, a teacher named Xie brought her students, hoping they would learn through sports, make new friends, and experience personal growth.

An on-site stamp collection activity was also organized, featuring quizzes and fun sports challenges to promote knowledge about the National Games and foster the spirit of sportsmanship. After intense competitions, 16 teams were awarded prizes. Participants expressed that the event was not only about winning honors but also about strengthening friendships among the youth of the Greater Bay Area.

By facilitating sports exchanges, the event effectively enhanced interactions among young people in the region, highlighted Nansha's central role in the Greater Bay Area, and created an enthusiastic atmosphere in anticipation of the National Games.
