Suparnin soars as global champion at restaurant, bar design awards

Recently, at the 2025 Restaurant and Bar Design Awards ceremony in Dubai, Suparnin – a high-end restaurant in Guangzhou's Nansha district – achieved remarkable success. It garnered multiple top honors, including the coveted titles of "Best Restaurant" overall and "Best Asia Restaurant", making it the biggest winner of this year's awards.

The prestigious international competition, dedicated to recognizing excellence in food and beverage space design, received 802 submissions from 87 countries this year.

Opened in late 2024 with an investment exceeding 60 million yuan ($8.42 million), Suparnin embodies the design concept of a "future garden illusion", seamlessly blending gourmet dining with art and technology to create an immersive experience.

A standout feature of the restaurant is its commitment to using fresh local seafood from Nansha, combined with international culinary techniques to craft innovative dishes. Notable examples include greasyback shrimp with caviar and Nansha anchovy roe with mustard mayonnaise, both of which highlight the authentic flavors of the ingredients.

According to the restaurant's founder, Nansha was chosen for its strategic position as the geographic center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as its abundant aquatic resources.

The restaurant has already attracted numerous brand tasting events and international chef collaborations, steadily establishing itself as a new benchmark for dining in Nansha. These awards not only affirm its excellence in design but also underscore the significant potential of Nansha's high-end culinary sector.
