During the festivities, the 2025 High-Quality Development Conference for Guava was also held, unveiling a series of specific measures to build Wanqingsha into a strong agricultural town.
As the largest guava-producing town in the Pearl River Delta, Wanqingsha is now home to 21,000 mu (1,400 hectares) of orchards, generating an annual output of nearly 300 million yuan ($42.15 million).
Recognized in the national catalog of "famous, special, excellent, and new-type" agricultural products, Wanqingsha's guava plays a crucial role in strengthening the town's agrarian prominence.

"We aim to strengthen our specialty agriculture by developing a comprehensive guava industry chain, enhancing the fruit's value, and promoting high-quality growth," said a Wanqingsha town official.
They added that the town seeks to connect with Hong Kong and Macao markets to boost farmers' incomes and become a hub of agriculture, culture, and tourism.
