During the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, Guangzhou's Nansha district demonstrated remarkable vitality in its cultural tourism market.
The area received nearly three million tourist visits, representing a 15.62 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024, while generating total consumption of 643 million yuan ($90.21 million), an 8.1 percent year-on-year growth.

The district attracted visitors with various activities, including a Water Town Collective Wedding, Dragon Boat and Farming Boat Invitational Tournament, and the Guangzhou Super Strawberry Music Festival. The music festival alone had about 90,000 attendees over three days, nearly half of whom were from outside Guangdong, showing Nansha's regional appeal. The new 20-kilometer "Lovers' Road" coastline became a favorite spot for social media check-ins, increasing coastal tourism.

The integration of culture and tourism effectively stimulated consumption, with passenger flow at major commercial districts increasing by 8 percent year-on-year. Shopping centers, including Nansha COCO Park and Wanda Plaza experienced robust consumer activity.
Enhanced transportation access and population increases have kept the market moving forward. Direct shuttles from nearby cities and connecting bus routes made travel easier for festival visitors. Nansha's residential population has grown to about 1.3 million, with especially strong growth among younger residents, boosting the consumption market.
Looking ahead, Nansha plans to leverage the opportunity presented by the upcoming 15th National Games to develop new consumption landmarks that appeal to youth, enhancing the district's attractiveness and vitality.
