Guangzhou Outdoor Sports Season Sailing Open concludes in Nansha

The 11th Guangzhou Outdoor Sports Season Sailing Open was held at the Nansha Yacht Club on Sept 14.

The event featured two categories: the FE26 Open Group and the J70 Unified Class, drawing 14 teams with participants of different ages and international sailors. After five competitive rounds, Team Yu Feng won the J70 category, while Team Cosmic Invincible Super Lightning Egg Warriors took the top spot in the FE26 group.

The opening ceremony also served as a send-off for the 2025 J70 Corinthian World Championship. Wu Jiaqi, president of the Nansha Sailing Association, highlighted that sailing in Nansha has flourished with government support, providing a global platform for youth and emphasizing that the spirit of perseverance matters more than results.

Professor Li Shiwei from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), serving as honorary president, acknowledged the event's role in promoting youth internationalization and stressed safety as the top priority.

A representative from the Nansha district culture, radio, television, tourism, and sports bureau noted that sailing has become an international calling card for Nansha and pledged continued support for its development.

Over the past five years, the Guangzhou Outdoor Sports Season Sailing Open has driven the refinement, professionalization, and internationalization of sports in Nansha while fostering sports integration within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
