Nansha district in Guangzhou hosted a thematic salon dedicated to the all-space unmanned systems industry on Sept 4, with the goal of promoting the development of unmanned systems in marine, terrestrial, and aerial sectors.
During the event, a significant milestone was achieved with the signing of 10 key projects, strategically focusing on three main areas: security assurance, digital-intelligent innovation, and application scenarios. These projects represent a concerted effort to enhance technological capabilities and foster innovation across various sectors. The event also marked the official inauguration of the Nansha All-Space Unmanned Systems Operation and Management Center, a key facility designed to advance unmanned systems operations and management. The Greater Bay Area All-Space Unmanned Systems and Low-Altitude Economy Industry Incubation Base was also launched.
Leveraging strategic locations such as Mingzhu Bay and Nansha Bay, Nansha district is advancing a comprehensive industrial development framework that includes technological testing facilities, manufacturing clusters, and robust industry-academia-research partnerships. The district has established a relatively complete and diversified industrial chain, particularly in high-tech sectors including unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) research and development as well as manufacturing, low-altitude economy initiatives, and flight testing activities. This development is further supported by a multitude of innovation platforms, research institutes, and specialized training bases designed to foster innovation, talent cultivation, and industry competitiveness.
Looking forward, Nansha district is committed to adopting cutting-edge technologies such as the Beidou satellite system, 5G-A telecommunications, and digital twins to revolutionize its management and control infrastructure. This includes comprehensive planning and development of advanced takeoff and landing facilities, alongside the establishment of robust commercial routes, aiming to realize a city-level all-space unmanned systems application scenario 2.0, significantly boosting overall social operational efficiency.
