On Aug 29, during the Qixi Festival, China's version of Valentine's Day, Nansha district civil affairs bureau in Guangzhou saw 153 couples register their marriages amid a lively festive setting. Many couples deliberately selected this traditional love-themed holiday to tie the knot, considering the occasion particularly meaningful.

The registration venue featured romantic decorations, with many couples bringing their own props like fresh flowers, handmade bouquets, and banners, which enhanced the ceremony's atmosphere.

Several couples shared their love stories. Some were drawn to Nansha's potential as a central part of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and plan to settle there. Others had long-distance relationships but stayed committed to marriage through mutual effort and support.

To celebrate, the Nansha civil affairs bureau organized the "Nanwan · Xishi" Qixi Sweet Market, partnering with local businesses to offer newlyweds free consultations, gifts, and discount coupons, thereby promoting the sweet economy. Nansha Release captured the event through words, photos, and videos, sending best wishes for all lovers to flourish together.
