Updated: 2025-08-27

Norwegian salmon industry chain company Eco Fish Circle (EFC) – Yifushi (Guangdong) Salmon – has registered its Chinese headquarters in Guangzhou's Nansha district, with an expected investment of 50 million yuan ($6.98 million).

EFC specializes in land-based recirculating aquaculture technology, achieving efficient and eco-friendly salmon farming through precise control of key parameters such as water temperature and dissolved oxygen. The project will use Nansha's advantages to engage in salmon breeding and develop a comprehensive industry chain across China.

EFC will introduce internationally advanced breeding technologies and management expertise to promote innovation in seed industry technology and intensive aquaculture transitions in Nansha, contributing to the building of a high-tech seed industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

This collaboration represents a significant step by Nansha in deepening international agricultural cooperation and injecting new momentum into the region's agricultural globalization.

Thanks to its unique geographical advantages, favorable climate, high-quality brackish water resources, and national-level agricultural open pilot zone policies, Nansha has attracted many leading agricultural enterprises to establish operations in the area.
