Since the implementation of the Nansha Plan in 2022, Guangzhou's Nansha district has achieved remarkable progress in comprehensive cooperation within the Greater Bay Area.
Nansha's GDP has seen steady growth over the past three years, with over 1,300 high-tech enterprises (an average annual growth rate of 21.5 percent) and strategic emerging industries now accounting for 37.8 percent of the district's economy.
In scientific innovation, Nansha has established major infrastructures such as the Cold Spring Ecosystem and 22 new research and development institutions, with research and development investment intensity reaching 5.48 percent. Additionally, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) has already hosted 32 innovation projects since its opening in 2022.
Cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao has flourished, with 15 youth entrepreneurship bases incubating 1,178 projects from the two regions. The Nansha Port's container throughput exceeded 20 million TEUs, while the "Going Global" Comprehensive Service Base has supported 211 companies in expanding overseas.
Institutional innovation in Nansha has led the way, with business registration approval times slashed by 93.6 percent and its business environment ranking first among China's free trade zones for two consecutive years. The Guangzhou Futures Exchange has also launched three new energy futures products, and digital yuan pilot scenarios have surpassed 11,000.
Nansha will continue to accelerate the development of three pioneer zones, strengthening its role as a globally oriented strategic hub.
