Nansha is sparing no effort in developing its shipping economy, with multiple indicators in the first half of 2025 revealing that Nansha's shipping economy has witnessed substantial growth.
By utilizing large-scale port and shipping facilities such as the world's first fully automated terminal for river-sea-rail multimodal transport, Nansha Port's container throughput increased by 11.2 percent, with foreign trade container volume growing by 25.4 percent.

Grain throughput approached 10 million metric tons, maintaining its position as the province's largest grain port. Ro-ro automobile throughput rose by 18.4 percent, and foreign trade roll-on/roll-off automobile throughput surged by 52.3 percent.
With the aggregation of numerous leading shipping enterprises, water transport turnover increased by 8 percent, newly introduced logistics enterprises contributed to a 20.3 percent growth in revenue for the freight forwarding and warehousing industries, and fixed asset investment in port and shipping logistics projects rose by 27.2 percent.
The port area has also opened a cumulative total of over 200 container routes, with eight new routes added, and launched more than 70 barge feeder services.
There are now over 30 rail-sea intermodal freight train services, with the rail-sea intermodal volume in the first half of the year increasing by 27.7 percent. Relying on the shared international freight center, sea-air intermodal transport has achieved an annual export value of nearly 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion).
