Guangzhou's Nansha is utilizing its rich aquatic resources to develop its marine economy.

Nansha Port stands out, with its impressive annual container throughput capacity of 24 million TEUs. Over 200 container routes extend from here to more than 120 countries and regions worldwide, facilitating global trade links.

The shipbuilding and marine engineering sectors have clustered in Nansha, with the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Longxue Base offering substantial shipbuilding capacity.

Marine ranching has also flourished, from fish fry incubation to offshore granaries, forming a modern marine industrial system.

Nansha is committed to building a southern marine science and technology innovation hub. Landmarks like the deep-ocean drilling vessel and ongoing construction of the cold seep facility are testaments to this. Research institutes and firms are breaking tech barriers, with deep-sea robots achieving commercial exports.

The cruise economy has also emerged as a new highlight. After resuming normal operations, the Nansha International Cruise Terminal has become a popular tourist destination in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, thanks to visa-free policies that enhance its international appeal.
