Pony.ai, an autonomous driving company based in Nansha, announced a strategic partnership with Dubai to deploy a Robotaxi fleet in the area on May 27, marking a new breakthrough in Pony.ai's global strategy.
The collaboration will progress in stages, with testing operations commencing in 2025 and full unmanned commercial operations in 2026, seamlessly integrating with transportation networks such as local subways, trams, and maritime routes. This is a milestone in Dubai's autonomous transport strategy, crucial for achieving the goal of making 25 percent of public transportation autonomous by 2030.
Pony.ai is the world's first company to achieve full coverage of unmanned driving services in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, and its seventh-generation Robotaxi has three main advantages. The vehicle's six types of sensor arrays can handle complex road conditions in high-density urban environments around the clock. To date, Pony.ai holds Robotaxi licenses in China, the United States, South Korea, and Luxembourg, and collaborates with numerous ride-hailing and taxi platforms.
Furthermore, Pony.ai recently released its financial report for the first quarter of 2025, showcasing strong revenue growth, reduced costs, and scaled production.
The year 2025 marks a year of mass production for Pony.ai's Robotaxi fleet, with the seventh-generation Robotaxi's autonomous driving system costs decreasing and production accelerating. By the end of 2025, the Robotaxi fleet is set to expand to a thousand vehicles.
