Nansha Science and Technology Week kicked off at the Guangzhou Modern High School of Fine Arts on May 24, with representatives from the government, businesses, and research institutes in attendance. The event began at 9 am with a science show featuring steam explosions, colorful tornadoes, and other exciting experiments that instantly ignited the atmosphere.
Internationally renowned mechanical engineering expert Professor Du Ruxu delivered a keynote speech, delving into the history of artificial intelligence development and exploring the innovative applications of algorithm principles across various fields, with students expressing appreciation for his insightful and industry-relevant explanations.
A highlight of the event was a robot dance performance designed and programmed by students at the school, demonstrating their achievements in "student-led, technology-empowered" initiatives. The establishment of the Nansha Science Popularization Volunteer Team during the opening ceremony marked a new phase in the science outreach system.
The event featured engaging activities such as science quizzes with prizes and interactive experiences in exhibition areas themed on energy, healthcare, and marine equipment.
With 13 distinctive exhibition areas, the event provided an opportunity for people to learn about science in an engaging way. Through a diverse range of platforms, this event demonstrates Nansha's firm commitment to driving high-quality development through technological innovation. Over the next week, nearly 30 science outreach activities will reach communities, schools, and businesses, continuing to inspire a passion for science among the general public.
