The Nansha Dragon Boat Race will kick off along the Jiaomen River on May 25, serving as a key event in the 2025 Guangzhou International Sports Carnival. It blends Lingnan culture with international sports, bridging history, urban vitality, and regional integration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Nansha, as one of the birthplaces of Lingnan dragon boat culture, embodies the district's character with the spirit of dragon boating. The 2025 competition has been comprehensively upgraded, combining resources through a "competition +" model to create a modern expression of traditional culture, aligning dragon boating with the pulse of the new era in the Bay Area.

The event boasts numerous highlights and 50 participating teams, a significant increase from 2024, spanning various categories to attract a diverse array of participants. Waterborne floral boats will include themed dragon boats and sponsored displays, highlighting each brands unique character.

In addition, traditional drumming and lion dances will blend with modern stage art for innovative presentations, while new water sports performances and extreme water challenges will demonstrate an international perspective.

Nansha cordially invites people from around the world to help ignite passion on the water, regardless of their backgrounds. On May 25, let's gather along the banks of the Jiaomen River and launch a new era in dragon boating.
