Intl forum held in Nansha to boost GBA stem cell industry

The 2025 International (Guangzhou) Stem Cell and Precision Medicine Industrialization Conference opened in Nansha on May 20, themed "Opportunities for Cell Technology in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area - Building a Global Innovation Highland for the Stem Cell Industry in the GBA".

During the event, domestic and international experts shared cutting-edge developments online, bringing together renowned scholars, industry representatives, and experts to discuss innovative advancements in the stem cell industry.

Stem cell technology has emerged as an important advancement in the life sciences sector over the past decade. It has enabled the execution of numerous collaborative initiatives, the development of industry standards, and has served as a fundamental platform for the exchange and cooperation of cellular technologies in the GBA.

Nansha is making strides in the development of its biopharmaceutical industry, using its strong expertise in stem cell research and precision medicine. At the recent conference, various companies announced the initiation of a youth development program, committing 10 million yuan ($1.4 million) to foster young talent and advance health poverty alleviation initiatives. This program is designed to harness stem cell technology to deliver meaningful benefits to the community.

Numerous clinical research achievements were showcased, encompassing areas such as stem cell therapy for knee osteoarthritis, infertility, and ischemic stroke. This conference signifies a new phase in the GBA's stem cell industry, moving towards a profound integration of industry, academia, research, and healthcare.
