The Blue Fish Harbor project in Nansha district's Prefabricated Food Industrial Park was launched on May 16, aiming to accelerate the development of a modern agricultural industry integrated with central kitchens and cold chain logistics. This initiative marks a significant step towards bringing the prefabricated food industry into a new phase of high-quality development.
The project, with an investment of 350 million yuan ($48.5 million), focuses on integrating seven functions, including the deep processing of aquatic products, intelligent sorting, and cold chain logistics.
It is projected to process 35,000 metric tons of aquatic products annually and have a cold chain storage capacity exceeding 8,000 tons, with an estimated annual output value of over 1 billion yuan upon full operation.
Following its launch, the project will establish a national-level intelligent aquatic product processing demonstration base and a provincial-level digital innovation center for prefabricated food, creating a comprehensive industry layout of "online sales + offline experience".
Looking ahead, Nansha district aims to expedite the establishment of a top-tier modern fishery industry ecological chain encompassing "seed research and development - ecological aquaculture - intelligent processing - brand marketing - global trade".
This effort will solidify Nansha's reputation for healthy aquatic food products and promote its products on a global scale, contributing to the high-quality development of the Blue Economy in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
