Guangzhou's Nansha district will launch its inaugural International Museum Day celebrations from May 17 to 18, merging cultural heritage with modern innovation through the theme "Museums in Flux: Creativity Without Boundaries".

The opening ceremony at Nansha Library's lecture hall will present traditional Qilin dance performances, while the adjacent plaza will host a cultural bazaar, operating daily from 9:30 am to 6 pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore intangible heritage crafts, interact with technological exhibitions, adopt mangrove seedlings through ecological initiatives, and enjoy jewelry appraisal services.

Following May 18, the celebrations will progress with a range of diverse cultural programming. Participating institutions will offer family-friendly archaeology workshops at the Henry Fok Memorial Museum, along with gemstone excavation experiences at the South China Jewelry Art Museum.

In alignment with the 2025 International Museum Day theme "The Future of Museums in a Rapidly Changing Society", these activities will explore the evolution of museums as dynamic cultural connectors, innovative platforms, and custodians of collective identity.
