After four days of intense competition with nearly 500 matches, the tennis competition of the 19th Guangzhou Youth Games concluded at the Nansha International Tennis Center on the afternoon of April 20.

The event, held every four years, attracted 252 athletes from 11 districts in Guangzhou this year. Nansha athletes clinched six gold medals, 15 medals in total, accumulating 211 points and ranking second in the city, a historic best for the district.

In recent years, Nansha has been developing its youth tennis scene, with the establishment of a comprehensive youth competition system allowing local players to participate in high-level events in Guangzhou.

Nansha is constructing a youth training system, bringing in a top-tier European coaching team and collaborating with renowned coaches from China's national and provincial teams. It seeks to establish a comprehensive system covering technical skills, physical conditioning, and rehabilitation, employing a professional training approach based on the Spanish model.

Furthermore, to enhance youth athletic performance and deepen the integration of sports and education, Nansha's sports schools have collaborated with social training institutions to identify high-level athletes from various training bases.
