The Nansha Gymnasium buzzed with excitement as Derrick Rose's China Tour wrapped up with an electrifying basketball showcase on the evening of April 19.

The clash between Jimeng 116 Basketball Team and Guangzhou Loong Lions stole the spotlight that evening, culminating in a high-intensity battle that saw Jimeng 116 Basketball Team clinch a narrow victory, bringing the series to a close. Yet, it was the exhilarating one-on-one showdown between Rose and China's streetball king, Chen Zewen, that truly set the crowd alight.

In recent years, Nansha has been actively promoting grassroots sports through the Nansha Men's Basketball League. Since its inception in 2022, the league has held three consecutive editions. Last year, the third edition attracted over 300 teams, showcasing the broadest participation and highest number of registrations in the city. The final match drew nearly 2,000 fans, establishing itself as the most influential county-level sports event.

Nansha is emerging as a vibrant hub where culture, sports, and tourism converge, establishing itself as the go-to destination for youthful indulgence. Positioned at the core of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Nansha is fostering a culture of top-tier advancement by building an inclusive platform through dynamic events. This burgeoning coastal city is leveraging sports and culture as a unifying force, unveiling a fresh emblem of Nansha's progress to the global stage.
