Nansha district of Guangzhou and Guangming district of Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong province have launched strategic cooperation on jointly building a comprehensive national science center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

A ceremony for signing the strategic cooperation agreement was held on March 27, when a government delegation from Guangming district visited Nansha.

This agreement aims to further propel cooperation between Shenzhen's Guangming Science City and Guangzhou's Nansha Science City at a higher level. By fostering joint contribution and sharing of scientific innovation resources and enhancing complementary advantages, both sides are set to promote the construction of the comprehensive national science center in the Greater Bay Area.

Nansha Science City covers a total area of 99 square kilometers, covering sectors such as marine science, energy, information technology, life sciences, and aerospace. It aims to develop major scientific and technological infrastructure, cutting-edge interdisciplinary research platforms, and high-level research institutions to establish several globally influential strategic emerging industry clusters and leading technology enterprises.

Meanwhile, Guangming district is actively constructing a world-class science city to accelerate the establishment of the pilot area for the comprehensive national science center in the Greater Bay Area, a more globally influential industrial technology innovation center, and the hub for high-level talent development in the Greater Bay Area.
