The inauguration of the Lao Culture, Tourism and Art Exchange Center at the Nansha Bird Park marked a significant milestone on March 26. Jointly unveiled by representatives from both nations, the center stands as a multifaceted platform for cultural showcases, commercial interactions, and agricultural partnerships.

Since signing a cooperation memorandum between Guangzhou's Nansha district and Laos's Sanamxay district in January 2023, the collaboration has evolved from local ties to provincial-city alliances. Expanding on this foundation, Guangzhou strengthened its bonds with Laos by establishing a friendship city relationship with Attapeu Province on Dec 8, 2023.

Anticipated to enrich cultural and economic dialogues, the newly established center promises to be a vibrant hub for collaborative endeavors in trade, tourism, and sustainable agriculture. Officials from both sides are optimistic about the center's potential to deepen mutual understanding and forge new pathways for cooperation in tourism and investment promotion, among other domains, as the momentous 65th anniversary of China-Laos diplomatic relations approaches next year.
