Nansha Cherry Blossom Festival debuts with rich cultural, artistic activities

The third Nansha Cherry Blossom Festival kicked off at the Shiba Luohan Mountain Forest Park in Dagang town, Nansha district on March 17. The grand opening ceremony attracted thousands of people, establishing itself as a springtime highlight of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Throughout the festival, intermittent piano ensembles will be performed, harmonizing with a rich tapestry of cultural and artistic activities. These include intangible cultural heritage storytelling, creative sketching sessions, and engaging poetry readings. Together, they form a vibrant cultural hub within the cherry blossom forest, enhancing visitors' cultural immersion and experiences.

The festival will invigorate the town's culture and tourism, culminating in a dazzling evening gala. Anticipated events include the launch of a marathon, a collective wedding ceremony, and attractions such as the Twelve Flower Gods Parade, captivating Yingge dance performances, and engaging art gatherings set to entertain visitors every weekend.

This year's cherry blossom festival seamlessly integrates trendy features like cultural and creative products and cafes to capture the interest of younger crowds. Innovative offerings such as cherry blossom ice cream, cherry blossom umbrellas and cherry blossom jeans have been unveiled, complemented by must-visit destinations like the iconic cherry blossom café.
