The 7th Guangdong Forestry Tencent Netizen Tree Planting Festival was held at the Nansha Mingzhu Agricultural Park – located in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province – on March 2.
The event drew the participation of top athletes including Jiao Liuyang, champion of the women's 200m butterfly final at the 2012 London Olympics and Cai Qizi, gold medalist at the Trampoline World Championships in 2013 and 2015.

The event was livestreamed, attracting over 880,000 online viewers and igniting widespread attention and enthusiasm for voluntary tree planting among the public.

"I hope that the athletes competing at the National Games can achieve outstanding results and I also hope sports in Nansha can flourish like the green trees," Jiao added.
