UniSiC Instrument (Guangzhou) started operation on Feb 28 at the Nansha Overseas Talents Entrepreneurship Park in Nansha district of Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province. This fills the blank for third-generation semiconductor chip testing in Nansha and even in Guangdong.
Its parent company, UniSiC Technology (Shanghai), founded in 2020, is developing as one of the top three leaders in the domestic market for dynamic testing systems for silicon carbide power semiconductor devices, covering all tests of Sic, GaN and Si power semiconductor devices.
Mao Saijun, the founder of UniSiC Technology, said that choosing Nansha as the company base in the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay Area not only allows his company to explore a broader market in South China but also facilitates international expansion through the Greater Bay Area.
In 2024, the output value of Nansha's large-sized semiconductor and integrated circuit enterprises increased by 33.8 percent. The landing of UniSiC Instrument signifies the enhancement of the semiconductor and integrated circuit industry in Nansha, contributing to the realization of the target of an annual output value of 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion) in the district.
Currently, Nansha is focusing on strategic emerging industries such as semiconductors, integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, biomedicine, and new energy. It strives to promote high-quality development, continually boost the momentum of the sci-tech industry, and create an innovation hub for industries in the Greater Bay Area.
It aims to achieve a total output value of 30 billion yuan for its semiconductor and integrated circuit industry by 2028.
