South Korea-China Forum strengthens collaboration

On Nov 17, the Greater Bay Area Science Forum 2024 hosted the South Korea-China Hydrogen Energy Cooperation Forum in Nansha, Guangzhou. Over 100 experts, industry leaders, and academics from both countries convened to discuss hydrogen energy, a strategic industry critical to global climate challenges and green transformation.

The forum featured insightful speeches from Chinese and Korean representatives. Chinese experts emphasized Guangdong's advancements in hydrogen energy innovation, highlighting its comprehensive ecosystem integrating government, academia, and industry. Korean delegates underscored their nation's commitment to international cooperation and expressed optimism about opportunities in China's burgeoning hydrogen market.

A key milestone of the forum was the signing of a memorandum of understanding of strategic partnership between the Guangdong Science Association and the Korea Innovation Center in China (KIC China). The agreement aims to accelerate technology transfer, patent collaboration, and cross-border innovation in hydrogen energy.

Additionally, 10 leading Korean companies, including Eflow and SFA Group, presented cutting-edge technologies in hydrogen fuel cells, engines, and production systems. These companies engaged in productive exchanges with Chinese experts and investors, setting the stage for deeper industry integration.

The forum concluded successfully, marking a significant step toward enhanced Korea-China collaboration in hydrogen energy, furthering shared goals of sustainable development and industrial innovation.
