Greater Bay Area Science Forum 2024 opens on Nov 17

The Greater Bay Area (GBA) Science Forum 2024 kicked off on Nov 17 in Nansha, Guangzhou, co-hosted by Guangdong province, Hong Kong, and Macao. Centered on the theme "leading through open science", the forum gathered over 100 leading academicians and experts to discuss cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence, brain-inspired technologies, green energy, and advanced materials.

Key officials and speakers underscored the importance of innovation in driving high-quality development in the region. They highlighted initiatives to strengthen cross-border collaboration, enhance talent development, and build an international hub for science and technology.

The event also saw the participation of Nobel laureates, pioneers and leaders from academia and industry, emphasizing the GBA's global appeal as a vibrant innovation cluster. Twelve major science and technology cooperation projects were signed, marking significant progress in fostering research and industrial synergy.

The forum provided a platform for promoting international scientific exchange, advancing original research, and creating an open and inclusive innovation ecosystem. As the region continues to align its strengths in technology, education, and talent, it aims to become a global leader in scientific and industrial innovation.
