Nansha commemorates 7 years of China's Physician's Day

In honor of China's Physician's Day's seventh anniversary, the Nansha District Health System hosted a commemorative event at the Nansha Library on Aug 19. During the event, doctors shared heartwarming stories about their experiences in serving patients.

At the conference, it was announced that Nansha People's Hospital would establish three key clinical specialties: Hepatobiliary Surgery, Pediatrics at Nansha Maternal and Child Health Hospital, and Orthopedics at Zhujiang Street Community Health Service Center in Nansha.

In addition, five distinct clinical specialty projects were unveiled, including Cardiology and Orthopedics at Nansha People's Hospital, Preventive Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine at Nansha Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Dermatology at Lingshan Community Health Service Center in Dagang town.

As part of healthcare reform efforts, some Nansha medical institutions have been renamed or merged, such as Nansha Sixth People's Hospital becoming Nansha People's Hospital. To better distribute medical resources, certain hospitals are being converted into community health service centers.

Nansha has invested more than 100 billion yuan ($19.99 billion) in introducing and building six high-level hospitals, which will provide over 5,400 high-quality medical beds. This significant investment is intended to meet the diverse and multi-level healthcare needs of Nansha residents and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
