Nansha engineer honored on China's Good People List in Q2

On July 30, senior engineer Chen Qingcheng from Nansha district, Guangzhou, was recognized and included in the "China's Good People List" for the second quarter of 2024 in the category of dedication and commitment.

In 1996, Chen joined Guangzhou Shipyard International Company, establishing an inseparable bond with ship welding ever since.

Throughout 28 years of dedication, Chen has resolved over 100 shipbuilding welding technical challenges, secured 78 innovative achievements, obtained 27 national patents, and played a pivotal role in nurturing highly skilled welding talents, making outstanding contributions to the development of maritime power.

Chen continuously refines his skills, inventing unique welding techniques and constantly enhancing his theoretical and practical abilities through various learning opportunities. His technical achievements have been widely applied, generating an annual economic benefit exceeding 10 million yuan ($1.38 million) for the company.

His exceptional welding skills were showcased in projects such as constructing the Peace Ark hospital ship and the luxurious Gotland passenger ferry.

Looking ahead, he is committed to contributing his wisdom and strength to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, national defense, maritime industry, and the prosperity and progress of China.
