The Dajiao Mountain Tunnel, dubbed the "Golden Tunnel", started construction on May 22, 2023, and is intended to support the development of the Nansha Bay area, enhance the road network, and promote rapid economic growth in the region.

The tunnel is divided into east and west sections, with the west section measuring 804.7 meters and the east section 890 meters. It is designed with six lanes in each direction.

The Dajiao Mountain Tunnel will serve as a major north-south artery in the Nansha Bay area, reducing travel time between the north and south and serving as a key component of the Nansha Inner Ring plan.

In the future, residents will be able to travel directly to Gangqian Avenue via the Dajiao Mountain Tunnel, reducing travel time by 10 minutes. The tunnel will connect Nansha Passenger Port, the International Cruise Terminal, Tianhou Palace, and Nansha Garden Hotel, facilitating travel on both sides of Dajiao Mountain.
