The trial operation of the Herry Fok Memorial Hall in Nansha district, Guangzhou started from April 23, opening from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 am to 5 pm.

Fok was born on a fishing boat but became the first businessman in the Chinese mainland to receive a State funeral. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to hard work and contribution. After the return of Hong Kong to China in 1997, he invested his efforts into the development of Nansha in Guangzhou.

Recognizing Nansha's strategic location as an ideal hub connecting the cities on the west bank of the Pearl River with Hong Kong and overseas, Fok set out to transform it into a modern coastal city. His vision was to create a city centered around a deep-water port, seamlessly integrating transportation, industrial processing, and tourism services.

Over the past decade, the Herry Fok Foundation has made a substantial financial commitment to the development of Nansha. With an investment of over HK$2 billion ($255.31 million), the foundation has played a pivotal role in transforming Nansha into the only national-level new area in Guangdong province and the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Fok's long-cherished dream has finally been realized in Nansha, Guangzhou.

The trial operation features diversified exhibitions through physical objects, texts, and images. It is one of the highlights of this year's Nansha Mazu Cultural Tourism Festival.
