15th Nansha Mazu Cultural Tourism Festival to open on April 30

The 15th Nansha Mazu Cultural Tourism Festival will be held from April 30 to May 5 at Nansha Tianhou Palace.

During the event, a variety of exciting activities will take place. Citizens will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Mazu culture through highlighted sea patrol features, such as Mazu sea patrols and family exchange activities. Additionally, the Herry Fork Memorial Hall will commence trial operations during the May Day holiday.

Moreover, an array of cultural extravaganzas beckons, spanning from a Mazu-themed light show to shadow play performances. Enthusiasts can delight in point-style showcases, immerse themselves in an AR metaverse night tour competition, and witness the allure of a fragrant cloud yarn fashion show. For a taste of tradition, a Song Dynasty (420-479)-style water wedding adds a nostalgic charm to the festivities. Visitors can also explore the Tianhou Market, which offers Mazu cultural and creative ice cream, Guangdong-Guizhou cultural tourism products, specialty foods, and demonstrations of intangible cultural heritage skills for both citizens and tourists to enjoy.

This event will also collaborate with Nansha Development and Construction Company, Nansha Hotel, Nansha Golf Club, and other units to jointly hold a leisure cultural tourism festival. The opening ceremony will feature martial arts performances and the local Huangge Qilin dance, creating an opening scene of intangible heritage collision.
