The first phase of the Nansha Hengli Island Water Treatment Plant (including a reclaimed water plant) has passed the environmental protection inspection and begun operating.

The plant can treat 70,000 metric tons of water per day, with phase capable of processing 40,000 tons and reclaiming 10,000 tons of water per day, making it an important civil water environmental protection project in Nansha.

The Hengli Island Water Treatment Plant will collect domestic sewage from Mingzhu Bay and Hengli Island, covering an area of approximately 17.98 square kilometers, and is expected to meet the domestic sewage treatment needs of 200,000 people on Hengli Island.

The plant adopts an improved AAO (anaerobic-anoxic-oxic) process, which has strong shock resistance and stable water quality emissions. The treated water meets the industry's requirements for pollutant discharge standards for urban sewage treatment plants and surface water environmental quality standards. The treated water can be used for the landscaping of Hengli Island, positively impacting the surrounding environment.

The water treatment plant is equipped with an intelligent sewage online monitoring system that automatically samples every 15 minutes. Through online monitoring instruments, it measures values such as COD (chemical oxygen demand), ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, pH, and flow, with real-time data uploaded to various environmental protection platforms to ensure the quality of the effluent meets standards.
