A thousand-person choral was held at the Xinghai Cultural Square in Nansha district's Lanhe town on March 30.

The cultural richness of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was revealed as 19 choirs gathered with resounding and powerful voices at the birthplace of the renowned musician Xian Xinghai. Xian Nina, Xian's daughter, sent her best wishes for this event.

The event commenced with the red-themed inspirational drama Fearless in the Storm, which was emotionally performed by five youths from Lanhe town. The Yellow River Cantata, created in early 1939, is considered one of Xian's most important and influential works, hailed as an epic of national liberation, creating a spectacular atmosphere at the event.

In addition to the Yellow River Cantata, the choirs performed contemporary works by the renowned composer Guo Xiaohu. This event followed the 2023 Xinghai Cup choral festival, aiming to continue the inheritance of the red cultural genes.
