The Ministry of Ecology and Environment recently announced the first batch of cities and pilot industrial parks earmarked for coordinated innovation in pollution and carbon reduction, including 21 cities and 43 industrial parks nationwide.

Guangzhou Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone was selected as a pilot park, making it the only industrial park in Guangdong province to be selected.

The zone has improved its ecological industrial information platform to guide resident enterprises in conducting clean production audits, ISO 14000 certification, contract energy management, as well as energy conservation and emissions reductions technology upgrades.

By establishing a green supply chain, promoting collaboration among enterprises in pollution controls, and by integrating its leading industries, including automobile manufacturing and electronics information, the quality and efficiency of the industrial park's industries continue to improve.

In 2022, the emissions of major pollutants from manufacturers in the park decreased by more than 8 percent year-on-year, while the carbon dioxide emissions per unit of industrial value added decreased by 5 percent.

Overall, the leading industries in the Nansha development zone have shifted from traditional auto manufacturing to a new development path that includes new energy vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles.

Furthermore, technological innovation and industrial integration have provided a strong impetus for the ecological and green development of industries in the Nansha development zone.
