The 6th Nansha Southeast Asia Bamboo Art Festival, the 3rd Indonesia (Angklung) Arts & Culture Festival, and the 6th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area ASEAN International College Design & Construction Competition were inaugurated at the Nansha Waterfowl Ecological Park on Dec 10.
As the highlight of this event, the 3rd Indonesia (Angklung) Arts & Culture Festival showcased Indonesia's rich cultural and artistic heritage. Angklung, a traditional Indonesian bamboo musical instrument, is an important symbol of Javanese culture. It was recognized as a world intangible cultural heritage item in 2010.
Cristine Agustina Siregar, from the Consulate General of Indonesia in Guangzhou, expressed the hope that through this art festival, more Chinese people will have a deeper understanding of Indonesian arts and culture, thus promoting friendship, understanding, and facilitating people-to-people exchanges.
