The 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) kicked off in Shanghai on Nov 5. Nansha showcased its position as a national demonstration zone for the creative promotion of the import trade through a series of videos, exhibits and interactive experiences.

During this edition of the CIIE, the Nansha-based unicorn Pony.ai and GAC Toyota jointly released their first concept car in the form of a pure electric autonomous taxi (known as Robotaxi).

This vehicle is based on the bZ4X pure electric vehicle platform produced by GAC Toyota and will be equipped with the 7th generation L4-level autonomous driving passenger car software and hardware system developed by Pony.ai.

The autonomous taxi released this time focuses on the interaction among people, vehicles, and the environment. The top of the car adopts a unique light language design for Robotaxi and adds a front and rear interactive screen.

The screen will display words such as "in operation," "vehicle turning around," and "parking by the side," interacting with surrounding vehicles and pedestrians to minimize the risk of accidents during operation and better integrate into the urban environment.
