Nansha aspires to boost marine ranching industry

Guangzhou's Nansha district held a press conference on marine ranching on June 27, to build an industry alliance while also promoting the high-quality development of Nansha's marine ranching industry.

Nansha is located at the estuary of the Pearl River, and its water area is equivalent to 60 percent of the district's total land area. It has currently formed advantageous industries led by aquaculture and fishery.

With the overall development goal of building a modern marine ranching industry technology innovation center in South China, efforts will be made in seven tracks, including marine ranching equipment design, manufacturing, financing leasing, and the fishery seed industries.

Of note, the Nansha-based Guangzhou Shipyard International Company is planning to carry out independent research on smart fishing equipment.  

The equipment is expected to help achieve scientific and balanced feeding and automated transportation and processing, thus creating a better environment for the district's fishery industry.
