Nansha plans to optimize its overall urban design for the Pearl Bay area and the three pilot areas - Qingsheng Hub, Nansha Bay and Nansha Hub - aiming to build a first-class urban development benchmark.
The Pearl Bay area is expected to become a financial center, a global reception hall, and a first-class commercial circle through the agglomeration of major public facilities and upper-level resources.
The Qingsheng Hub area is planned to become a Hong Kong-style international community that can accommodate up to 20,000 people. The community will also incorporate planning and design concepts and standards from Hong Kong and Macao.
The Nansha Bay area will form a functional pattern, consisting of the northern marine cultural leisure area, the central Pearl River Estuary recreation and business area, as well as the southern international scientific and technological innovation area.
The Nansha Hub area will undertake special functions such as holding international conferences and exhibitions, thus forming a secondary service center outside of the central business district.
It will also create a 1-square-kilometer research and transformation platform for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This will promote the area's integrated development of the district's industries, universities and research enterprises.
To date, four enterprises and 41 experts from Hong Kong and Macao have participated in Nansha's planning and design work. This strengthens cooperation in the field of urban planning and construction in the Greater Bay Area.
