Nansha Port sees boost in new energy vehicle exports

Nansha held a new energy vehicle export conference on May 31, which was one of the most important activities of the Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo 2023.

More cars made in Guangdong are being sold globally via Guangzhou's Nansha Port. In March, Nansha's automobile wharf oversaw the exportation of its largest batch of new energy vehicle since the beginning of this year. The 3,600 domestically-produced new energy vehicles were exported to Southeast Asia.

In 2022, the output value of the automobile manufacturing industry in Nansha reached nearly 200 billion yuan ($28 billion), with a production value that exceeded 1 million vehicles. Nansha Port also saw an export volume that exceeded 100,000 vehicles.

Nansha Port's achievement is a microcosm of China's rising automobile export industry, and the district will continue to fully leverage its port advantages to promote the high-quality development of Guangzhou's automobile foreign trade.
