Nansha's import trade demonstration zone displayed at Canton Fair

The second phase of the 133rd Canton Fair kicked off on April 23, with the exhibition area of Nansha's National Demonstration Zone for the Creative Promotion of Import Trade showcasing its varied products.

The zone's exhibition area is decorated with circular elements, highlighting Nansha's geographical location at the center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

About 20 enterprises are expected to showcase the zone's achievements in high-quality trade development. These include enterprises such as Pony.ai, Chali Group and Guangzhou Port Group, which cover industries such as technology, automobiles, electronic information, bulk commodities and shipping.

The implementation of the Overall Plan for Promoting Comprehensive Cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao by Further Deepening Opening-up Measures in Nansha District of Guangzhou, which was released by the State Council in June 2022, presents new engines for the district to develop its import sector.

According to Xie Xiaohui, head of the district's commerce bureau, the demonstration zone has been fostering six import platforms, each of which is expected to realize annual imports worth more than 10 billion yuan ($1.45 billion) in the foreseeable future.
