The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and several transnational corporations from the United States held a high-level roundtable conference and a series of activities in Nansha from April 18 to 19.

These activities were held in Nansha, with dozens of representatives from top transnational enterprises in different fields, such as Honeywell, Boeing, and Intel, attending.
On April 19, senior executives of these transnational enterprises also visited representative enterprises and pavilions in Nansha, such as Guangzhou Automobile Toyota, the Nansha Port Phase 4 Wharf, and the Nansha Planning Exhibition Hall.
In recent years, Nansha has been increasing its efforts to attract investment. Last year, Nansha signed 227 new project deals, with a total investment of nearly 400 billion yuan ($58 billion). It also introduced 241 projects from world's top 500 companies, while the actual utilization of its foreign investment increased by 72.78 percent.
More than 240 of the world's top 500 companies, including Toyota and Mitsubishi, have invested and settled in Nansha.
Nansha Port now has more than 180 liner routes that travel to more than 200 countries and regions around the world. Additionally, Louis Dreyfus, of France, and Cargill, of the United States, have set up their China trade headquarters in Nansha.
