8,000+ boxes of fresh durians to enter via Nansha Port

The Xin Nan Sha vessel of China COSCO Shipping arrived at the second terminal of Guangzhou Port on April 15, carrying more than 4,000 metric tons of Thai durians, mangosteens, coconuts and other tropical fruits.

Together with the earlier arrival of the Evergreen Chang Zhi vessel, nearly 6,000 metric tons of imported durians have entered the domestic market. It is expected that more than 8,000 boxes of durians will enter the Chinese market via the Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port this year.

The journey from Thailand's Laem Chabang Port to Nansha Port takes only four days, thanks to efficient one-stop cold chain transportation. This has allowed Chinese consumers to enjoy fresh seasonally imported fruits.

To serve the "Durian Express" this year, the Nansha Port Area has established a dedicated service team and formulated a "one ship, one plan" service model. Dedicated personnel will oversee the entire process, from a ship's arrival to container pickup. This will create a more reassuring, convenient, and efficient logistics channel for customers.

Nansha Customs has also adopted trade facilitation measures, such as two-step declarations, two-stage entries, and shipside direct pickups. These measures will ensure speedy customs clearance for fresh fruits and other perishable goods, ensuring food safety.

Imported fresh fruits can be delivered to the Jiangnan Fruit and Vegetable Market within two hours of being unloaded from a ship, and can later be distributed to major supermarkets and fruit markets within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and even across the province.
