Nansha Bridge celebrates its 4th anniversary

Updated: 2023-04-07nansha.guangdong.chinadaily.com.cn

Nansha Bridge celebrated the fourth anniversary of its completion and opening on April 2.

As the first "super project" after the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" was issued, it connects Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Dongguan, serving as the "artery" driving the economic development of the Greater Bay Area.

The bridge has increased vehicle flow by 120 percent, far exceeding the designed flow rate of 100,000 vehicles per day.

Nansha Bridge is exploring a new path for the deepening of the integration of "highway + tourism" development, enhancing the "added value" of highways, while achieving both social and economic benefits.

To improve vehicle traffic efficiency and provide data support for scientific decision-making, the bridge's operational management has created the "digital channel" intelligent monitoring project. Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) nests have been set up in key areas, achieving efficient command and dispatch functions, and ensuring the precise implementation of various traffic control measures.

Nansha Bridge has established a specialized maintenance system and broken through multiple key core technologies, integrating production, education, research, as well as application, while continuously improving the professional, intelligent, and informational level of bridge maintenance services.

Honglian Bridge is now ready to be opened to traffic, allowing drivers to travel from Longxue Island to Wanqingsha in just five minutes.
