Nansha held a press conference to introduce the district's advantages in the premade food industry, which are its location, policies, and platforms, local media outlets reported on March 21.
In 2022, the total output value of premade food in Nansha nearly reached 2 billion yuan ($29 million), and the district will strive to reach an output of 2.5 billion yuan by 2023. It will also strive to achieve an annual increase in the industry's import and export trade volume.
Nansha district also launched 16 supporting measures to promote the construction of industrial parks for premade food.
Li Huang, head of Nansha's first enterprise to focus on the import and export of premade food, said that they will invest $1 billion into the premade food industry, with North America, the European Union, and other Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries as the main export destinations.
Li added that the company will help Nansha build a trade zone that supplies all kinds of premade food, including seafood, poultry, pastries and vegetarian products.
