Construction begins on Nansha grain transfer system project

Updated: 2023-02-03nansha.guangdong.chinadaily.com.cn

The grain transfer system project at the Grain and General Cargo Terminal of Guangzhou Port's Nansha area started on Jan 30.

The project is connected to the Fuling Food Industrial Park, which is located at the back of the terminal. The project will form a seamless grain reserve transfer system between the port hub and the integrated industrial park.

Once the project is completed, grain from processing enterprises can be transported directly from the wharf or grain silo to the enterprises in the factory area by fixed conveyors. This will greatly reduce cost and improve the efficiency of grain transfers.

With a total investment of 200 million yuan ($30 million), the project will mainly involve the construction of a bulk grain transport line that can move 1,000 metric tons per hour, and a soybean meal transport line that can move 500 tons per hour. Both lines will connect the front of the wharf with grain processing enterprises.
