Nansha showcased in Times Square

Nansha's newest city image video "Nansha of the world, engine of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area", was unveiled in Times Square, New York, on Jan 30.

The video featured landmark locations in Nansha, such as Mingzhuwan Bridge, Nansha Port and Innovation Bay. When it aired, it attracted a crowd of locals to stop and watch.

In June 2022, Nansha issued and implemented the State Council's plan to promote comprehensive cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao by further opening-up.

During the past year, Nansha's economic growth rate ranked first in Guangzhou. The district's automotive industry developed into a cluster that is worth 200 billion yuan ($30 billion), and its container throughput exceeded 18 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).

In addition, Nansha has been home to over 900 high-tech enterprises, and 2,158 science and technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises. Among them, 25 enterprises were selected as unicorn enterprises in Guangzhou.

In the past six months, Nansha has signed off on 227 new projects with a total investment of nearly 400 billion yuan, an impressive increase of 87 percent.
