Guangzhou held a groundbreaking and signing ceremony for its major first-quarter projects on Jan 29. With a total investment of more than 680 billion yuan ($101 billion), more than 460 project contracts were signed or began construction.

Nansha district in Guangzhou is expected to begin construction on 33 projects and sign another 30 project contracts within the first quarter of 2023, with a total investment of 160 billion yuan.

Nansha's Wanqingsha area, where the Nansha branch venue of the ceremony was located, is also home to Youngy Group's lithium-ion battery manufacturing base and R&D center. It is expected that the project's output value will increase by more than 10 billion yuan upon its completion.

Youngy Group also signed a contract to build a smart manufacturing base in the Wanqingsha area for new energy battery equipment and new displays. The base will cover an area of 279 mu (19 hectares), and has a total investment of 5 billion yuan.
